Video: Parenting Advice—You Don’t Have to Be Perfect

Posted By: on June 10, 2015

One of my clients personally came into session and shared with me some parenting advice they’d written for themselves as a parent. I was so moved, I wanted it to share with you.

Here it is:  It’s called “Mom and Dad, Please Remember.”

Mom and Dad, please remember.

I am learning every minute of every day.

I want to learn everything you know.

I want to be like you.

I want to have fun with YOU.

I want to please you.

I’m only few years old.

Mom and Dad, remember.  Assume I do everything with good intent until you know otherwise.

Please guide me with a gentle hand.

Please give lots of hugs.

Please say ‘I Love You’ to me every day.

Please let me talk to you at any time.

Please ask me before you assume I did wrong.

Mom and Dad, you don’t have to be perfect, just be Mom and Dad.

I need you.

I look forward to seeing you every time we are apart. You are my dad and mom.

I love you.
