We all want to make our lives better.
Interestingly, most people think of sweeping changes when it comes to improving their life.
They’re fixated on landing a new job, getting a big promotion, finding someone to marry, moving to a new place, retiring, or some other major life attainment.
All of those things are good, but the perceived level of happiness they bring can be deceptive.
In my years as a therapist, I’ve found time after time that once people achieve their big goal (the one they thought would make them happy), they find they still feel empty inside.
I wrote a full article for our friends at Winter Wisdom covering this topic, including what neuroscience is teaching us about happiness.
