From time to time we all find ourselves in the middle of an angry confrontation. This can be with a family member, a friend, or even a coworker.
When faced with someone who’s very angry, it’s extremely tempting to respond in kind. But as most of you know, responding with anger is rarely a helpful tactic.
What should you do instead?
My best advice is to train yourself to be a world-class listener and to learn how to express yourself calmly, clearly, and articulately, even if that means deferring the conversation to a later time.
